Grief is a byproduct of the COVID-19 pandemic.
When COVID-19 threatened everything Amy McCarty knew, she refused to let anyone, especially her husband, be alone. She stayed by her husband in the hospital when most hospitals still did not allow patients to have a family member by their side. She journaled to her family and friends daily with updates as they stayed a safe distance from the hospital.
When the worst thing imaginable happened to her, she found comfort in writing day in and day out as she journeyed through the grief.
In "There is Hope for Us" Amy McCarty weaved a tapestry of words that shows you what grief felt like as she grappled with the first year of widowhood.
